OTERO MESA VETERAN’S DAY WEEKEND EXCURSION

OVERNIGHT:

Friday and Saturday night at the base of Alamo Mountain—You will need to provide your Friday night meal, and Saturday lunch. Breakfast will consist of fruit, granola, and yogurt.

SATURDAY DAY EXCURSION:

For those not wanting to camp we will leave Alamogordo at 5:30 am from the old Walmart parking lot on Hwy 54.
It is a 2 hour drive through dirt roads and approximately 86 miles from this point. Make sure your spare tire is good!
Saturday we will explore petroglyphs and hike to the top of Alamo Mountain where you will get a breath-taking view of the Otero Mesa.

SATURDAY MEAL: Dinner will consist of green chili chicken enchiladas and peach & apple pie prepared in a Dutch oven.

Primitive camping, you must provide your own camping gear.

Please wear appropriate attire – Pets are not recommended
